Visa on Arrival

Visitors from many countries, including the EU, United Kingdom, United States, Canada and Australia, can obtain a visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports.

Currency & Payment Information

The local currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (EGP).

Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, shopping centres and most tourist attractions. However, carrying some cash is recommended for local markets, smaller vendors, taxis and gratuities.

Exchange offices and ATMs are readily available throughout Cairo, while both Euro (EUR) and US Dollar (USD) can be easily exchanged upon arrival.
